Name one thing that you are a little worried about when you think about living in your Sister School community for the exchange: i think it will be exiting, they might be mean to me.
Name one thing that you think you will miss from your home community while living in your Sister School community: i will miss my family and friends. i will miss the yupik food i always eat @ home.
How do you think the people in your Sister School community will be different than the people in your home community? they might have more strict teachers, they might have too much people in the hall ways, there will be lots of people in their class room. it will be really big there.

Thoughts from our team about our first day of the exchange

Describe what you did to get ready for your guests arrival.: As the hosting team we planned a school sleep over, and a dinner to welcome the visiting Juneau team. We invited the 6th and 7th grade class to the sleep over. We invited Mattew Turner to come to our school to help us with "getting acquainted games." We picked up our visitors and gave them a quick tour of the village.

What are your first impressions of the visiting Cultural Ambassadors?: They looked like they were scared. Some ambassadors were concerned with the boots some were wearing. They don't wear rubber boots in the winter that is more of a fall and spring foot wear. They all thought they looked nice and friendly.

What were the best moments of welcoming your visitors?: The sleep over was the most popluar event. Akiak kids like to have school sleep overs. They played basketball, some learned new dance moves, we watched movies, socialized and got to know each other better and had computer time.

What are you most looking formward to doing now that your guests are here?: We are very excited to teach them the Yupik dance, go dog mushing and go on the snow machine adventure.
