Highlights from our team's thoughts about being a Cultural Ambassador
see more on the Personal Profiles |
What do you think the easiest part of being a Cultural Ambassador will be when you visit our Sister School community?: learning and observing everyone and the differences in the cultures of Wasilla/Palmer and Kasigluk
What do you think that you will have to work the hardest on to be a Cultural Ambassador?: remembering to be respectful of everyone, because the important things may slip my mind at crucial times and to take lots of pictures |

| Area for Exploration One: One Thing We Must See Or Experience When We Go To Kasigluk: |
| Yuuraq - Yup'ik Dance |
|
What we learned. I learned how To dance, I learned the words to a song, and I learned the basic movements for most songs. |

| Area for Exploration Two |
| Technology and Education |
|
What we learned. How much they use their technology to communicate to out side world, the elders feel that the kids are in school way to much, and that it is taking some time away from them learning their own culture, Education differs from generation to generation. |

| Area for Exploration Three |
| Health Care/Sanitation |
|
What we learned. If there is a major accident they are flown out to Bethel. They call doctors periodically to make sure that they are doing their expectations right. Their clinic is smaller then our houses.
