Since we haven't been able to upload photos or videos to this log, I've made a link to them. This is not edited yet, so there are a lot that are not up to my photo standards! :) Enjoy!

So today is April 11th and it's our first day in Shishmaref! I learned a lot today. One of the first things I learned was how scary a tiny plane could be, more scary than a normal plane! When we first landed in Shishmaref I learned that it was very cold and how I'm happy I brought such warm clothes! When I met my host family I learned how nice they were and it made me feel so relieved to know I was staying with such great people!
Life is so different here in Shishmaref than Anchorage. There's barely any cars and almost everyone owns snow machines. I also learned that everything in the Shishmaref store is like triple or more expensive than it would be back home! Another thing I learned was that there's two servers here for wireless internet. One for just the school and the other for the rest of the village. Also there are a lot of dogs here and I actually saw a honey bucket which is something we don't have at home! I also learned there are quite a bit of twins here for such a small village! Also today there was an over flow which is going to prevent us from going to the hot springs tomorrow. We did our photo scavenger hunt today which caused me to travel around the village, meet some elders, and see how life is. Also I got to see Rene'e (the girl I hosted) again and I was able to finally meet her family. And after the photo scavenger hunt we met back at the school for a potluck!
Today was really eventful and one of my favorite things I learned so far is how the people of Shishmaref are so very friendly!
