Spring Teacher Orientation
Teacher Orientation will be held at the BP Energy Center on November 4-5. Teachers that are staying the night(s) in Anchorage will be booked at the Marriott Residence Inn. Depending on travel, you may also receive a traveling perdiem. Contact Jonathan Samuelson for travel concerns or changes.
Please come prepared to work on your travel dates- bring your school calendars and be ready to complete your timelines. Friday night will involve basic introduction to the program materials and teacher introducions. Saturday will involve doing a profile video and getting familiar with your Teacher Handbook with particular focus on Areas for Exploration. We are also offering two classes for credit: Designing and Implementing a Cross-Cultural Exchange Part 1 with Laurie Evans-Dinneen and Designing and Implementing a Cross-Cultural Exchange Part 2- Digital Storytelling with Hannah Guggenheim. Hannah will be doing a workshop during orientation on Digital Storytelling, laying out what is involved working with her during the exchanges.
Also, take a look at our Fall teams. Service and Thorne Bay are both finishing up their exchanges just as Teacher Orienation begins.
